My name is B Lee Aultman. I am a political theorist with specializations in women’s and gender studies. I earned my Ph.D. (2018) in Political Science from The Graduate Center, CUNY. My dissertation, Feeling as Knowing, was a multidisciplinary study of the ways in which ordinary affect and self-knowledge assemble and found narrative. My book, The Trans Ordinary: Narrative, Affect, and Trans Feminine World-Making (Under Contract, SUNY Press) examines the affects of “survivance” in ordinary life located in representations and personal narratives of trans women dis-covered from archival research.
My areas of interest emphasize trans studies, Black feminist studies, affect theory, phenomenology, and Marxism.
